New pc help

I want to join the pc master race and build my first pc. I will be buying everything around Christmas or early 2015. Should I get the parts then or wait a bit longer? The main components I would like to have is a gtx 980 and a 4790k. The purpose of the build is for it to be a gaming pc to last 2 or so years with only cheap upgrades.

Any help or advice would be appreciated

a cool cheap 1080p gaming build can be the FX 8320 + the R9 285, but this is all AMD that i love lol :lol:

 

on nvidia the 980 and the 970 is a great buy

 

and from intel any i7 or i5 (with 4 cores, and not the one that have 2) can be a gret a buy
