Im looking for a new screen for my computer, im currently using a DELL 3011, I have reason to think that this monitor is a FPS killer in games such as World of warcraft and so on.

So my question is what do you guys recommend as a new gaming screen for me? i have seen alot of 144 hz screens on the market and im looking into something like that:

I got my eyes on the: Is it overkill? or is it also a FPS killer in games such as Wow?

ASUS RoG Swift PG278Q

Computer setup

Geforce 780 x 2 SLI

i7- 4770k CPU

16 GB ram

Thank you for your help!

I have been using a 1080p ASUS monitor for about 6 years now and I have never wanted to change until this year. If I end up upgrading my graphics setup, I will likely go for the ASUS PB287Q 4K or the LG 34UC97 (though it is quite a bit more expensive and will require more deliberation time for me to decide on it). If I stick with my R9 290 (or even get a second one for Crossfire), I will likely get the ROG Swift. I am a little hesitant to do anything at the moment because of Freesync on the horizon, I'm still curious to see what happens with that. But the ROG Swift with GSYNC seems like an excellent and aesthetically appealing gaming monitor.

if you are talking about throughing 1000$ on a monitor you should be able to spend 30$ on a stick of ram

That's my next planned upgrade. New monitor will only come after better RAM, mouse/keyboard upgrade, an inexpensive Xonar soundcard (have been using an ASUS D2X but I'm selling it on amazon because I'm no longer using my computer for surround sound home theater anymore, and maybe a graphics card upgrade (even though I just recently got my R9 290, selling my two old GTX 570s paid for the 290 so it wasn't really spending money). I meant that RAM was the bottleneck in my system, not the monitor.
