Upgrading RAM

Go to solution Solved by Skiiwee29,

I have bought this RAM. They have great timings and for the price, could not beat it.

So I currently have Corsair Vengance 1600Mhz ram at 9.9.9.24 timings and they work flawlessly. However recently I upgraded my system and got away from the blue themed board and have the black/red that looks very slick. I was "ok" with staying with the RAM, however, one of the heat spreaders has fallen off. I have convinced my wife this is cause for me to need to upgrade :D I have tried to re-attach it and seal it up with some Thermal Tape I had from old laptops to place on the memory chips, but it is still not working.

So I am looking at getting 1866 and want either Red, Red/black, Black/red, or Black in color. PCB color really doesnt matter as you wont see it with heat spreaders.

Currently I am looking at these, Newegg is just a reference I am using atm: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226502 They are timed 8.9.9.24

Thoughts?

Budget is between 80 & $90. I just game on my system with some streaming and sometimes I use multiple monitors. I know RAM wont have much of an impact on what I do, but why get 1600 when you can get 1866 for the same price?

Oh yea, the kit must be 2x4gb.

I'm not sure about the brand as I haven't heard of it before, however, they look pretty decent. Have you looked at the latest Kingston Hyper X Fury RAM kits? They're supposed to be pretty good. They come in various colours, including red.

ON A 7 MONTH BREAK FROM THESE LTT FORUMS. WILL BE BACK ON NOVEMBER 5th.

You never heard of Mushkin?? They use to be the top go-to years ago before Corsair and Kingston really hit it good.
