is it worth getting the rog swift even though i cant use gsync? If there is a different monitor you can recommend then tell me. I have a great rig shouldn't have problems running anything. Also a friend of mine was saying that i should do a eyefinity setup. Is it worth it or just for shits and jiggles?

welcome to the forums!

you could get the ROG Swift without the G-Sync module, as it's still a pretty ballin monitor.

Overlord Tempest is ips 1440p @ 120 hz for $450. American company. Only downside is dvi only, and thats the limiting factor on its refresh. Wish it was dp.

Like the Korean models (and can we stop using that as a negative, I mean only some of the largest brands in computers today are from Korea after all........) you have to overclock it. That is really quite easy, you just download a tiny software program that lets you set custom resolution and refresh rates. Takes a few minutes, and directions are on the Overlordcomputer.com website.

With 2x 290x under water you have a lot of options though. I have the Tempest 270OC I speak about above and like it, but I can't run it at 120 Hz because my rig is in another room and DVI signals really decay over the 20 feet of cable I need. I am seriously considering the 34" ultrawides LG has, as well as 4k. Also thinking about the Swift - I am hesitant about it though because it adds G-Sync and 24 Hz to my current monitor - no resolution or size increases. Makes me wonder if its worth the money. I'm thinking its not, not when I can get a 4k monitor that supports G-Sync now. I can tell the difference between 60 and 120 hz, but it is one of those things that its not difficult to live without even once you've tried it -- for me at least. Picture quality is more important.

So yeah, you should definitely get a new monitor, the question is do you want high refresh rate, or higher resolution? You can run 3440x1440 or 3840x2160 no problem with those crossfired cards.

The reason why Korean monitors are often cheaper is because they are built with cheaper less quality parts, which is a negative.

And LG makes panels for tons of high quality monitors. You were saying?

They're a budget solution, its not because they're Korean - Korea has high end products too. Its pretty straight forward. Anyway, that doesn't change anything concerning the Overlord - its a small business in California and very well built.

Where can you get one like that? I've tried looking around and haven't found anything
