Would I get noticeable performance boost?

I'm not 100% sure this belongs under this subforum, but:

 

 

My current laptop has i5-3320m w/ gt-640m +8gigs of RAM. 

 

I would get a PC with i7 920 + gtx 650 for under 200$.

 

So back to the headline; How much of a performance boost would that be over my current setup.

My usage consists of LoL, streaming it, AC's, some video editing etc...

in the video editing maybe quite a bit, the mobile I5 as dual not quad core.

 

 

as for gaming the 650 will do better than the 640m but in raw numbers i really can't say

Yes you will see a good increase in performance.

Yea, You will will get better performance, And you will also get a foot into the desktops,
It is worth it.

Yeah, as other said, it's a nice improvement and worth it even though both CPU and GPU are a bit old.

A lot, that i5 is a dual core with HT it's even slower than desktop i3's. So 4 cores, higher clock, slightly lower IPC but doesnt matter here, and HT will be easily 100% faster.
