Title. Just got a new laptop a few days ago, a Sager NP8268/Clevo P150SM barebones. After a random amount of time sound stops playing through the headphone jack. Restarting usually solved the problem, but hasn't the last few times. Playback devices show speakers as default device, both before and after headphone jack stops working. Switching to realtech digital output does nothing. I've tried with multiple pairs of earbuds, none of them make any difference.

I'm wondering if something is shorting out inside the computer. I may have to RMA the whole laptop anyways, as the cooling system isn't working properly, but I would like to know if the audio device will need to be replaced.

And no, it isn't muted.

I can be a cynical a**hole at times. I apologize if I cause any offence at those time. I also occasionally have issues communicating my point. Extreme introversion + Photographic memory + Some other things.

Driver?

Nope, I've tried updating the driver, deleting and reinstalling it, disabling and re-enabling it, and pretty much everything else I could think of. When the jack stops working there is no little error sign next to the device in the device manager window.

Dead jack then.

Alright, RMA it is then. Thanks, wanted to get a second opinion before I returned it.

Shame though, haven't even had it for a week.
