what cable should i use

so i could use a single link hdmi to dvi for my new monitor (dvi would be on the monitor end with hdmi as the gpu output) or i could use a dual link DVI for the monitor coming from a DVI-D connection.

 

option 1: single link DVI from HDMI

option 2: Dual link from DVI-D

It doesn't really matter, but I'd use DVI just because it locks. Picture quality will be the same.

If it's 1080p then it doesn't matter

 

Need dual link for 1440p though

Really doesn't matter, they both will give the same quality.
