Ok im nearly sure about buying gtx970's.Lets say that i bought 2 of them would i be able to upgrade again to 3 cards when its needed?(4k gaming is not gpu efficient as you all know)im using asus rog g30ab(would it fit and the stock coolers would be enough?)

Just buy 2 980s. 3-way SLI isn't worth it.

You can't sli with that motherboard.

SLI requires at least 8x pci-e slots, which that motherboard doesn't have (you're limited to 2 way sli).

At a resolution of 1080p, 3 way sli wont do anything.

But at 4k going from 3 way to 4 way sli will help help quite a lot
