the new series where i teardown random stuff

this time on the tear down, i give u 3 storage devices.

on the left we have a modern sandisk sd card

in the middle we have a generic 1GB sd card, which looks to be a micro sd sottered to a board

on the right we have a generic flash drive.

You have my attention.

What's the form factor of the generic one?

The middle one screams quality...

Edit: I really should read the post instead of skimming through more often...

Full sized SD card, the same size as the san disk one

Looks like a microSD soldered onto an 'adapter' PCB... oh wow...

I've a broken (fake) Memory Stick with me... That image got me interested in tearing it down... or what's left of it...

Edit:

Tore it down...

Sorry about the quality... I only have a potatocam with me...

The larger chip reads "29F64G08FAMCI" "0850 I5"... It was manufactured in '06.. I have no idea who the manufacturer is... Their logo is a large 'i', not capitalized...

The smaller chip reads "HS666" " 0549"... This one looks like it's manufactured by the devil himself since it performs hellishly slow...
