With that budget the 970 is a good choice. It looks like the release schedule is 18 months for new releases so it'll be some time for NVidia. There's nothing it seems in the pipeline for AMD.

Sir William of Orange: Corsair 230T - Rebel Orange, 4690K, GA-97X SOC, 16gb Dom Plats 1866C9,  2 MX100 256gb, Seagate 2tb Desktop, EVGA Supernova 750-G2, Be Quiet! Dark Rock 3, DK 9008 keyboard, Pioneer BR drive. Yeah, on board graphics - deal with it!

This is the last part I need for my build. I've been thinking abut the gtx 970. What do you guys think? Should I get the 970 or wait for AMD's next move against the 970? You can also recommend other video cards you have in mind.

 Maximum budget: $350

Doubt AMD will come up with something superior in terms of heat output. You'd be fine with the GTX 970.

With 350USD the 970 is the perfect choice. Fast, silent, cool and all the new stuff. The drivers a new and in a couple of month they will bring more Maxwell optimized drivers which will even improve the performance of the Maxwell cards more.

The 970 is a really good option at that price, I might be tempted to wait until after the 25th just to see if AMD does come out with some new GPU's very soon. If AMD does not deliver on the 25th, I would buy a 970.
