I'm confused

So i am looking for a new amd mobo, and i stumble across this on ncix http://www.ncix.com/detail/msi-970-gaming-atx-am3-53-101587.htm

It's cheep looks amazing and has some cool features, but it shows that i can only preorder,

Weird its a 970 chipset for a new mobo.

I look it up on newegg and it is already for sale no preorder or anything.

 

Has this board been out for a while? and ncix is just being dumb,

Or is this really a new board?

And is it any good, every thing about it makes me want it except 970 chipset, it just seems odd.

It's a pretty new board, first (and only) BIOS version dates to May 30th, 2014. MSI just decided to refresh their AMD lineup a little I guess. I has been a looong time since the 900 series chipsets were released.

Yeah the 900 chip set is getting on now, but it doesn't stop board manufactures keeping everything else up to date, 970/990 covers most bases anyway.
