Task Manager Manager?

Kitten

So I've had my new rig for a week or two now, and since I've had it, I notice there's a lot of processes in Task Manager (Around 80 - 90) just after booting up.

I'm pretty sure my old PC never usually had more than 40 or 50, and that was full of no ends of junk!

Are there any good programs able to automatically close unneeded processes? Or what's the best way to optimize this issue. Thanks. :)

It isn't advised to just closed programs, they might be doing something important

It would be better to reduce the list of startup programs running on your PC

In windows 7, press start and type into the search msconfig and press enter, a box should open, select the startup tab and untick any unneeded programs.

Be caseful though, you will want to leave any that provide drivers on, and any that have something to do with the core system.

Arch Linux on Samsung 840 EVO 120GB: Startup finished in 1.334s (kernel) + 224ms (userspace) = 1.559s | U mad windoze..?

TuneUp Utilities is a very good one. Great at managing stuff like that. You can buy it for like $20 if you get a holiday deal (sub to email), but they also have like a 15 day trial or something.

I highly recommend it, I just bought it a few weeks ago, but haven't installed it yet, though I used it for the trial.
