So hey,

I decided to change my Gigabyte R9 270X for a faster one.

So i was looking at these new nvidia cards but im not a big fan of them then i was looking at the r9 290 (there isnt a big difference in games between the x and the non-x so i dont need the x version cause its more pricey) and i dont know which card should i get.

As i said im not a big fan of nvidia but can you recommend me any REALLY good video card which has the best performance/price ratio in the market atm and its price is around $450? I live in the EU so it would be better to get it in £ (~275£) or € (~350€).

If you can recommend me a cheaper one then its fine but i'd like to take a better upgrade then i did before between the gtx 660ti and the r9 270x so i dont need to change my card after a year again because it just cant handle some games the way i want too (dead rising 3 for example and gta v and other games are coming out so i need a stronger card) :D

Thanks bros. :)

If you want a 290 dont even get one.  Just get another 270x for less money.  Youll have pretty similar performance.

That being said a 970 is in your budget, and would poop on your 270x.  Itd be a ton less power than 2 270x's aswell.

Personal Rig v3: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X | Noctua NH-U14S | Gigabyte B450 Aorus Pro ITX | Zotac GTX 2070 8GB | 16GB G-Skill Trident DDR4 3200MHz | EVGA Supernova 750B | Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ITX

Peripherals: Sennheiser HD518 & Classic ModMic | Corsair K65 Luxe | Zowie EC2 | ASUS VG259QM  |  ASUS VG278E | Klipsch ProMedia 2.1

if i get an other 270x most likely i have to get an other psu too cause ive got an fsp hexa 500w which is cool but it would not handle 2 video card sadly

how much better this gtx 970 is? there isnt much benchmark about that

if you cannot handle 2 270x's a single 290 might be a push.

System CPU : Ryzen 9 5950 doing whatever PBO lets it. Motherboard : Asus B550 Wifi II RAM 80GB 3600 CL 18 2x 32GB 2x 8GB GPUs Vega 56 & Tesla M40 Corsair 4000D Storage: many and varied small (512GB-1TB) SSD + 5TB WD Green PSU 1000W EVGA GOLD

You can trust me, I'm from the Internet.

r9 290 is using ~300w

2× 270x = ~360w

im using an i5 4690k ~80w or even less

500w psu

so basicly an 290 would be fine but i dont like to change my psu if i dont need too

so you guys recommend me to get the new gtx 970? anyway will be there any new amd card which can compete with that gtx 970?

thanks for the answers anyway :)
