I recently got all of my new components for a new PC rig but when I turned it on, the computer failed to go to the BIOS and had no video. The lights of the graphics card was on and the fans were running in the PC, including the heatsink fan, case fan, graphics card fan, and psu fan. However, there is no video. I made sure that the cables were all hooked up into the right places and that they were all the way in but it still failed. I switched the ram sticks, reset the cmos, but it still would not post. I tried to hook up the dvi cable directly into the motherboard to use my cpu integrated graphics and see if that would work but it still wouldnt work. Could this mean that the motherboard is likely at fault? I doubt that the power supply is defective since its xfx and it seems to run fine.

Hook up some kind of speaker, and look at the POST code in the motherboard. It's usually a small screen on the bottom. Does the computer make some kind of sound? Because if a computer fails to POST, it emits a "Beep" code where it alternates long and short sounds to tell you what's going on. Post below with "Long-short-short-Long" or something like that, and of course, listen to the guy above you. Reset everything.

My build: tis be ordered
