About a week ago, after shutting down my computer, it didn't boot up the next morning.

It tries to boot twice. The first time it starts for about 300ms, and fails. The second time it loads a couple of seconds passed POST, but fails to boot. From there, it repeats indefinitely.

I just want to make sure it is a motherboard issue before replacing it, since it seems to be the Dual Bios causing the trouble.

It may have been the overclocking that made it fail, (at 4.5GHz stable for a month,) I don't think it was.

If it is a motherboard issue, what would be a good overclocking board to get for the dinosaur of a 2500k? Not many boards around anymore. I was thinking of the

Asus P8Z77-V LK

specs:

GA-Z68x-UD4-B3 bios version F9

I5 2500k @ 4.5

H80 Watercooler

CORSAIR Vengeance 2x4 1600

650W Power Supply

750GB Seagate Black

240GB Agility 3

Radeon HD 6950 TF3 2GB

Ahh, sorry. Didn't mention the things I've tried to fix it.

I've removed the BIOS battery and pressed the power button several times, left it out overnight, and used the 2 prong BIOS reset (with power disconnected of course.)

Tried 1 RAM in each slot as well.

With the board I have, I think it was designed to COPY the main BIOS onto the second BIOS, so it is copying a faulty/failed setup... That is what I think is happening, at least.

I should be replacing the board this weekend, however I would still like confirmation that it is the board that has the issue, and if the board I'll be replacing it with is safe for a 2500k with overclocks in the 4.5 range.

-Forgot to say that all 4 LEDs on the board light up, showing that the CPU is powering up normally.

checked the hdd? is all your devices/hdd recognised in bios? can you enter bios?  check all cables and clear dust etc

Wow, I left everything out in the OP, didn't I? It doesn't boot with/without the drives, or with a single drive. (windows SSD or the storage drive HDD).

It just loops in two stages. Instant startup crash, then it gets a few seconds past POST and crashes. Trying to get into bios/recover/anything during the two seconds it's up doesn't do anything. It still crashes.
