Mic level not adjustable (Win 7)

Hi guys,

Since a couple of days ago, when I plugged in my clip on mic (Zalman ZM-MIC 1),

my friends started complaining on Skype that I was very quiet.

After looking in the input devices settings, I noticed that the mic level was at 0, and stuck there, too.

I can't figure a way out to make this problem, that wasn't there before, go away.

This is what I see:

*I use the on-board audio on my motherboard for the microphone.

Thanks in advance!

Turn the gain down so its 0.0db and turn the top slider up to 100%. If that's still quiet keep the volume at 100% and move the gain up until you hit a point where you are happy with the volume. Also double check the program that you are using it may have its own microphone adjustments.

I have tried all of this. In skype, the problem is exactly the same, no difference.

Is there a volume rocker on the headset its self? perhaps you nudged it and turned it down.

Nope, definitely not, just the mic itself, the cable and a 3.5mm jack.
