Hello fellow users! I´m going to build my first gaming rig, so obviously I don´t know a lot about hardware; all I know is I want a 780. so the purpose of this post is to know what is the "basic" configuration i should get in order not to drag down my GPU??

I plan to play all sorts of games (Crysis3, BF3; Metro LL) on a 1080p monior that allows 120.

Cheers!

PS: Sorry for my english!

If you are getting a 780 you should go for at least 1440p

Something in your system will always bottleneck something.

On the Intel side, you should be good with any i5's. Get the unlocked (K) version and overclock your CPU and you should be good to go. The overclock doesn't need to be anything major.

Why? The 780 can't max games out at that resolution. You need at least two of them to max games out.

yes it can , just dont run 8x msaa, 1440p dosent needit
