Okay time to build a computer for the start of college. I need some help choosing parts.

  1. Budget: My budget is around US $1600.
  2. Aim: Mainly used for high end gaming and college programing
  3. Monitor: Planing on using a single 24’’ 2ms monitor
  4. Peripherals: Need a gaming keyboard, but already have mouse and audio

I really like the design of the Corsair 240 Air and would like to use it. I would also like to run most high end video games at max or near max graphics at 60 frames per second. I don’t need to buy an operating system, mouse, or speakers. I’d like to use a 1tb storage with a 128gb ssd. 8 Ram is plenty. I might upgrade to 16 later though. I'd like to go with liquid cooling, but it all depends on the total price.

That being said, please help me choose the CPU, CPU cooler, motherboard, power supply, and graphics card. Thank you so much!

Its a bit under but ummm.. I found it hard to get it to $1600 cause I live in AUS and I'm always making budget builds

EDIT: but you could upgrade to a 4790k and maybe get a 290 if you wanted.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

yeah I know I did, but I just don't know if I can justify using $1600 when he's probably only doing gaming and school work :3

Hmm...I can see it. But then again my personal computer is about 4.5 grand atm as well, without custom water cooling, which will come later.
