Desktop Microphone

Go to solution Solved by BoredErica,

Forgot to mention that I use the avermedia live gamer hd capture card and it needs to be connected through a sound card, not sure if there is a way around that. When I bought it, I had been told that the Sound Blaster Z would be more than I need but I wasn't doing youtube videos at that time and didn't think I would need a usb port on my card.

Wow, really?  :o  That sucks!

I'm looking for a high quality desktop microphone, something similar to a blue yeti, but connects through a 3.5 mm jack. Is there anything of this sort or am I just out of luck? The reason I require it to be 3.5 mm is because I use a sound blaster z sound card, which only supports 3.5 mm jack connections.

the sound blaster won't make a difference and would probably crap the audio.

for usb

Mxl tempo or at2020 are the ones I say. snowball and yeti just don't compare.

And why is it that it would just crap out the audio? I'm sorry, I just don't know much on this subject

Because they're made differently. You could try a camera microphone just slap that on your desk and plug it in but I don't think that'll work too well either.

plus the sound blaster card would ruin the audio of it because it's ADC (analong-digital converter) isn't too good it's as bad as a cameras probably worse.

I dunno if it'll crap up the audio, but the Blue Yeti on its own is perfectly fine. You'd be fixing something that wasn't broken.
