Why not go 900 series when it comes out? I think that would be the only change. Besides that I like it for the most part.

I'm a student currently attending the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, if you attend or around there please don't hesitate to contact me!

Mudkip: CPU: i5-4670k; Cooler: CM Hyper 212 Evo; Memory: 16GBs Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz; Motherboard: Gigabyte Z97X UD5H; GPU: ASUS DCUII 770 2GB @ 1254MHz; HDD: Seagate Barracude 1TB; PSU: CX750M; Case: ThermalTake A31 Chaser Thunder

Because I'm poor and why would I waste money on something that is only slightly more powerful than what we already have

I think in the long run it would still be the better choice.

Edit what you want BUT I will under no circumstances consider AMD for this system not because I'm a Nvidia fanboy but because I have a cooler master CM 690 Nvidia edition case (Google it)

Because you have that case, you're already a nVidia fanboy :D

GPU: GeForce GTX 700 something - What's your budget for the GPU? At least 3GB of memory in anyway.

PSU: Corsair RM 550W 80+ Gold - Not great. As someone said above, get something from EVGA/Seasonic/CM. Also, get at least 750W because, as you're going to get a GeForce 7xx series, you'll probably be tempted to go SLI when the prices of the current series drop dramatically.

Cooling: NZXT Kraken X31 - Are you not going to overclock your CPU? I would "go big or go home". Get an air cooler that would probably perform better than the X31 for the same price or cheaper or get a better AIO liquid cooler.

Sound: Razer Kraken 7.1 Gaming Headset - Do you really need a headset? As you may know, headsets are not the best option if you want true quality audio. I see, however, that you're getting an MMO mouse so maybe you don't really care for positional audio and stuff. So then my question: Why 7.1 virtual surround?
As mentioned before, Razer's headsets suck dick. They lack in audio and build quality.
You'll regret if you buy any sound-related-product from Razer - looks get boring/worn out, quality does not.

If you really need a headset, I would suggest any headset from from Sennheiser/Audio Technica. If you don't mind the microphone and can live with a clip-on mic or something, get any headphone from Sennheiser/Audio Technica/Bose/Sony.

I have the Corsair Vengeance 2100 headset and have had no problems whatsoever. However, I know that its audio performance is not as good as real headphones. But it's wireless, the virtual surround works and the battery lasts a lot (my needs).
Read some reviews and specs and find out what will fit you best!

CPU: Intel Core i7-4790k | CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 | Motherboard: ASUS Sabertooth Z97 MARK 1 | Memory: Kingston HyperX FURY 16GB 1866MHz | GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770 4GB Windforce

Storage: Samsung 840 EVO | PSU: CM Silent Pro 720W | Case: Phanteks Enthoo Luxe | Headset: Corsair Vengeance 2100 | Keyboard: Logitech G710+ | Mouse: Razer DeathAdder Chroma
