Memory mixing

Go to solution Solved by denstieg,

Cool even different brands I see H4X3R.

So I can order them with confidence  :)

Thanks you guys.

Hi there,

I'm currently running a dual channel 2x4 Gb setup with Mushkin 996995 Blackline, and am wondering seeing as it's no longer available in the Netherlands if the 996995 s (stealth) with the exact same timings voltage and speed and as far as I can see a lower heatspreader wil be compatible. So are they two sets with 2x4Gb but different heatspreaders like the sku nummbers seem to say or am I missing something.

Thanks,

Eric

You can use two different matched pairs of modules assuming that they are not in dual channel. As long as the pairs are matched then they should work in dual channel mode.

In the image below you would need to put the Blacklines in the two red slots and the Stealths in the two black slots (or the other way around, just make sure they're paired properly):

Edit: This image may be a more helpful explanation of what I mean:

"PSU brands are meaningless, look up the OEM."
