Remote Access/ Teamviewer

Guys I have a few questions about teamviewer and remote access.

I need to use it to help out my father in-law. unfortunately he lives in rural Australia and the internet speed and data amounts are craptastic in main cities let alone rural areas. What data usage amounts would I be looking at? Clearly guesstimates are fine due to lack of info I can give you.

Any recommendations of other software will be much appreciated

Not fast enough. When I use to run teamviewer with my desktop and work across town I was running at 50 MB/s and the work place was running DSL like 10 Mb/s and I was glitching on that.

for teamviewer, I wouldn't say alot. nothing extreme. it's compressed so maybe 10mbps

At min. Across countries you will need more probably.

My suggestion would be to get a usb wifi dongle and hotspot it to 4g or similar and connect to the computer via 4g hotspot. You will have alot better connection.

That is down, his up is about 1MBps i think

We just need to know speeds.  If he has 1mbps up and you have 1mbps down, it will work.
