Hey guys

I was just wondering could I use a sata expansion card and add drives to a raid. If my mobo only have lets say 4 sata ports, and I put a 4 port expansion card in the computer, would I then have 8 sata ports I can use in a software raid? Just a quick question :)

My setup: i5 3570K  - Corsair H100i - MSI Z77 GD65 - 256 GB Samsung 840 pro SSD - Corsair AX760i - Gigabyte GTX 670 Windforce 2GB - 4x4 GB Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer RAM - Corsair Carbide 500R (modded side window)

Yes, you can span software RAID across pretty much any

combination of drives as long as you can access them from

your OS (or, more accurately, as long as your software

which is responsible for the RAID can access them properly).
