Media PC for a parent

Go to solution Solved by Glockshna,
Thank you guys for pointing me in the right direction. I think this is what I'm going to settle on.

The performance options I was seeing at my original price point weren't quite doing it for me so an extra 80 or 90 bucks to perk it up a bit is okay. I'll beef up the boot drive in the future but for now storage is a bit more important.

If there's anything glaring that should be replaced or stepped down here let me know otherwise this looks alright to me.

CPU: AMD A10-6790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($129.96 @ SuperBiiz)

Motherboard: ASRock FM2A88X-ITX+ Mini ITX FM2+ Motherboard  ($95.98 @ OutletPC)

Case: Corsair 250D Mini ITX Tower Case  ($74.99 @ Newegg)

Power Supply: SeaSonic 300W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply  ($42.98 @ Newegg)

Total: $481.90

Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

__________

I've been looking at get my mother a micro style media PC for her living room for Christmas as the old laptop she's been using has seen better days and also doesn't have enough storage for all of her media.

So here I am. I'm looking to build something in the 400 dollar range (A bit under if possible) that will last a few years as a media center with some photoshop usage thrown in there occasionally.

I know the best option for this is likely going to be an AMD platform but I have no experience with AMD so I'm looking for some suggestions in that area.

Thanks for the help!
