Low ssd performance

My samsung 840 evo isnt really performing as well as expected from what i can tell sequential reads are ok but random reads and writes as well as sequential writes are tanking hard. So uh help, Please.

 

Magician is set to performance, over provisioning is on, the SSD is on a sata 3 port and windows is set to AHCI.

Well this is also quite a bit luck of the draw but is your motherboard set to AHCI mode (Not IDE like mine), is it plugged into a 6 gigabit sata port? How much data has been written? How long have you had it? How full is it?

Got the SSD today and updated my post lol and 0.16 TB so 160gb the SSD has 70Gb free.

Try updating the firmware.

Is not relevant at this moment unfortunately. He should be getting closer to the specs than what he is getting now. I get 4000 MB (yes, bytes) per sec with rapid mode :D

That is more than enough to enable rapid mode.

So turns out you have to install the AHCI drivers while installing windows *shakes fist angrily in air*.

Well, rapid mode will alleviate that without having to reinstall drivers but doing both will yield super speeds.

It allocates up to 25% of your RAM or 1.5 GB of RAM (Whichever it hits first) automatically. (Note it also uses a bit of CPU power but that isn't too much of an issue except in CPU-hating games)

You need to restart your PC to enable rapid mode.

Premier pro editing and also gaming cause i always hit the limit cause of chrome tabs aha

Those numbers are unfortunately within tolerances, albeit at the low end. Silicon lottery doesn't just apply to CPUs  :mellow:
