College: Computer Terminology Rant

So I'm in my second semester of Technical College and I'm enrolled in this class called "Operating Systems Concepts" which entails operating systems as well as hardware.

The first test I had to take was strange to me due to there being multiple answers that could actually be the answer, but I had no clue on which answer was being looked for.

For example (this may or may not have been on the test, I can't remember, but it's just a hypothetical question regardless): it could ask for a device in the description of it being removable, mobile and can store data.

The multiple choice answers would be something like: (A.) Removable Flash Storage  (B.) Removable Media Storage Device  (C.) <insert other generic name> (D.) <insert other generic name> (I can't think of the other two it would likely put, but they would be so vague and generic I wouldn't know which one to pick).

Every quiz/test I take, they almost always never have an answer that was less vague, like for the previously mentioned hypothetical question it could have easily been "USB Flash Storage" or "Portable/External HDD/SSD", but no. The answers have to be super vague and be all possible answers yet the software grading the test is looking for one specific answer. This freakin blows my mind.

When taking a placement test at a technical college in my area, there were parts of the test that would say "Open a Program on the Desktop" with no further implication of how, like seriously. Did you want me to go through all programs? A shortcut on the desktop? Use the Search function? Create the process in the Command prompt. Nothing, I still got a perfect score and recommended for the "Advance IT Network Analytic Course" but what a pain in the ass.
