I was searching but didn't find any thing about which one is better One Powerful card or Multiple cards. Correct me if I am wrong but Linus said in tech quickie that he recomends only onde card even if the card is dual chip like 7990 or 690. Is that correct why? I am asking this because I have 2x 7970 but I turn off one of them because the performance is no good...

Thanks for the help... Anyone.

Generally 1 powerful card is a better choice. Despite sli/xfire offeeing better raw power, the consistency and stability isn't there.

Edit: I can't read sorry, hd 7990 will give similar performance but a little less. Hd 7990 is sol xfire

One higher performance card is usually the best solution in 99% of cases, I like to think of it like this, if you have a car that seats 5 people but you need to seat 7, its a better idea to sell your smaller car and get a bigger car than get another 5 seater car and tape them together.

I've never heard Linus say that he recommends dual chip cards, pretty sure I have heard him say that they're an expensive way of getting dual GPUs though. They will be subject to all the same problems as dual individual cards, unless your motherboard has only a single high speed PCI-E lane in which case they have SOME merit.

In my opinion less GPUs is generally better, though 2 way SLI is pretty good really and CF will (hopefully) be fixed soon.
