Computer for school

I am looking for a computer for my brother, for school.

I was thinking of something like a Chromebook, or something of that matter.(doesn't have to be one)

Something around $250 would be nice

Any recommendations?

For $250, Chromebook or tablet. 
Desktop is the only computer that you can get for that price that's not crap.

 

HP, Samsung, or ASUS Chromebooks will do.

Or get a old Surface (RT) with the type cover.

pretty sure chromebook would be your best bet or a tablet

My school made me get one!  Its the worst thing EVER!  You have to use IE!  You can't download anything!  The touch/type cover has NO TACTILE FEEDBACK!

Well my dell venue 8 pro (tablet) can run .exe.
