Steam machine

I have two older computers that i want to use for a couple things. I have a Athlon 64 3200+ and a Pentium 4 3Ghz. I want to make a "steam machine" for games like League of legends and a couple other games (and to stream from my main computer) and I was thinking of also having a file server computer. I'm wondering which is better for each task (I have a 9600gt for the steam machine). Or if its better to just use the same computer for both? What would be the advantages of each option?

I would use the the CPU with lower power consumption for file server PC. And put the better performing CPU in the Steam Machine. If Pentium is the lower power consumption CPU with higher performance then I would use it both as the Steam Machine and file server PC.

If youre gonna use SteamOS itself, just check if it supports your'e motherboard, i tried it with an P55-GD65 and it was to much of a hassle to get the OS instaled due to the lack of an uefi bios
