2 psu's ? Need help asap :D

Go to solution Solved by ForsakenLive,

The 4-pin connector that plugs into the motherboard is the exact same connector as the 4+4pin you will find on the 750W PSU.

Power-hungry motherboards use a 8 pin power connector now, and higher wattage PSUs have a 4+4 cable, you can split up this cable and plug the 4 pin into your motherboard

The connector should look like this:

4-pin-p4-cpu-connector.jpg

Sometimes they are found bound by a plastic latch into a 8 cable connector, just separate them and plug the CPU1 power 4 pin power connector. If they are not labeled, don't worry, only the CPU 1 will fit in the socket.

hey guys! my friend just bought a new psu and GPU

and the new gpu is 750 watt psu and the old one is 300 watt

but the 750 watt psu dosent have a 4 pin which i dont have in the 750 watt.

so can i use my 750 watt psu to power everything then use the 300 watt one which has a 4 pin to power the "4" pin?

Will this work without problems? also is there anything "dangerous" by using this method for 3-4 days? thats when he gets the 6 to 4 pin converter

You can use two psus.

Any decent 750w psu should have everything you need to run a full computer and 2 gpus.

What 4 pin are you talking about? Is it a 4 pin for the cpu? or is it an old ass gpu that has a 4 pin power. Or is it a 4 pin molex, in which case any modern gpu doesn't even accept molex power without an adapter.

i need a 4 pin connector in the top left corner of the MOBO.

i thinks its for CPU or PCI-E "extra power"

If your PSU didn't had that connector, it would mean your PSU is based on a archaic design that shouldn't be used on a modern day setup; however, this isn't the case.  The CX750M has a 4+4 CPU connector. You should be able to detached it and used just one of the 4-pin connector.

Link of the connectors that came with the new psu

Look at image B. If you look VERY carefully at the clip, you will see a line that is cut through the middle. That's a 4+4pin connection, where you can snap the two apart.
