So I went to BestBuy to look at some gaming headsets, tried a few (including the Razer Kraken 7.1, didnt like those) and the Logitech G430. I loved them a lot!

So I want to know;

How are they in general?

How are they after hours of use?

If you own them, how do you like them?

I also am deciding between these and the G35's, which is better as they both kind of seem the same...

If you have any other suggestions for gaming headsets that you believe are better, feel free to say (NO Razer please)

My budget is about 100-120 USD

I know im going to get hated on for looking at headsets instead of good headphones and an external mic, sooooooo

If you have any suggestions for good 7.1 surround headphones and i can just add a mod mic. My max for "good" seperate headphones would be about 75 dollars considering the 50 dollars for the mod mic.

Thank!

I Love Playing CS:GO!

From what I know best buy has a pretty good return policy. You should find one you like, take it home and try it out. If you dont like it you have like 14 days or something to bring it back with a receipt.

Linus actually has a video on the G430, check it out:

I recently bought a G430 and love it, I have no problem with wearing it for hours on end because of the cloth headcup instead of the normal leather. Sound quality is nice and mic sound is clear as far as I know.

Stay away from the G430. I own that one and while the overall sound is alright for gaming, the USB sound card is totally negligible and odds are the mic will crap out on you (lots of people have that problem). The HyperX Cloud costs only $13 more on Amazon and is miles ahead of that one in just about every aspect.

No, the HyperX Cloud is not a surround headset. it's not ideal for super precise footstep pinpointing, but it still does an adequate job. Just so you know, the G430's surround is pretty disappointing anyway, especially with that godawful USB sound card.

Any headphone can be used for "surround" if you enable to appropriate sound setting in-game, by using Razer surround, or by using a soundcard with virtual surround.
