Sup guys,

I need a new mouse for my pc, I heard that Razer & its support are low rated. So since LinusTechTips is my friend, I would like to ask is this mouse good? or Logitech Mice are better?

Steelseries Black Ops 2 Mouse: http://steelseries.com/products/games/call-of-duty-black-ops-ii/call-of-duty-black-ops-ii-gaming-mouse

Any helpful comments to decide please? have been searching for a good mouse for a long time :p

I just recently bought a Logitech g500s and i love it so far. It took me a day or two to get used to the macro button under the back and forward buttons but over all i strongly recommend this mouse. The Razer Deathadder is also a great mouse but I started to get Double Click issues after just 4 months of usage.

I personally stay away from all Steelseries mice apart from the Ikari Optical. This is due to the fact that there are countless issues with them, especially with their unstable sensors that feature hardware acceleration and prediction which is something nearly all people don't want in a gaming oriented mouse.

From looking at the image, is seems like the BO2 mouse is just a rebranded Xai or Sensei and there are issues with it breaking easily and also tracking badly on coloured, or certain mousepads.

For mice, the main companies I recommend are Microsoft, Zowie and Logitech. Razer do have some good mice, Deathadder and NAGA but some people complain about build quality and customer service while others literally have their Razer mice for years. It's one of those get lucky things which you can't really predict. You might just get a bad batch, you might not. Of course this is the same with most companies but smaller companies such as Zowie not so much.

From Logitech, the mice I recommend are the MX series and following this the G400. The newer G400 models made like pre 2011 don't feature built in prediction like their early versions so they are pretty nice. The shape is identical to the MX518 (Which is what I personally use atm) but it's one of the things that you either love or hate. For a right handed ergonomic mouse, it's what I would go for. In ways the Razer Deathadder is similar as you pretty much palm it due to it's large size and this can also be said for the Zowie EC1.

What it really comes down to is however:

  1. Your hand size?
  2. How you hold your mouse?
  3. What features you are looking for?
  4. Your budget

Anyways depending on these factors we can try and help determine what suits you best!

Is this the real life? Or is this just fantasy?

1. Currently I'm using the Logitech M100, which is a little bit small for my hand.

2. I use the "Palm Grip" method.

3. I don't really care about mouse features, but any useful feature that can benefit me while playing games such as MW3 or BO2, any feature.

4. Well, I'm not going to pay more than 100 ~ 120$ on a mouse.
