Recently there was whole big whoop about teen inventing super capacitor. It charges in seconds and charge can stay for an hour. Pretty cool, however I am not sure how much capacity it stores.

Nonetheless here is what I was thinking.

 

I have a nexus and let's assume it is 2000mHa battery. Charging it from 1.2A source takes about an hour with about 10-20% battery life left. Charging from 2A source takes about half an hour.

Well super capacitor can be charged in matter of seconds and it can hold the charge for hour. What if we take stock battery and replace half of it or 1/3 with a super capacitor.

 

Some poorly thought out meth.

Charging 2000mAh from 1.2A source takes 1 hour. Since the battery will be cut in half, we are left with 1000mAh and it should take 30 minutes to charge it from 1.2A.

Not hear me out. You charge the capacitor for 10-20 seconds and for the next hour or so it will charge the battery. In theory battery shouldn't wear out as bad since it can be charged at lower rate (1.2A compared to 2A) so battery lives longer. Not to this super-capacitor&battery we add wireless charging. 

 

Compromises. With 2000mAh battery I have about 4 hours or non-stop battery life. I can watch videos, play music while browsing, or playing games. 1000mAh should last for maybe two hours, but recharging it will be more faster and convenient.

 

Anyway, just something I thought. Disclaimer. I am no electrician and have no idea how this might or might not work. Maybe super capacitor is super big. Maybe it hold only 100mAh charge. Maybe it discharges faster. But this is just something that might be cool if we have the right technology. Also my meth might not be correct.
