Hello everybody, I am in search of help for my friend. He is building his first system in a Bitfenix Prodigy. His problem is that he has 3 fans but only 1 motherboard header for them. Is there anyway to connect 3 fans to a board with only 1 header? Any solutions will help, I was thinking he could use a fan controller but I'm unfamiliar with them and what exactly they do. Links appreciated!

The fan controllers, control fans lol. Really all it is is a controller which has a molex plug for power. Then regulates the fan speeds via voltage control, it's the easiest solution to your problem. You can hook two fans to one header, but the more fans you hook up the higher risk you run of burning the header out. You just need to take a look at the voltages and see what the port can handle. For example my fan controller can handle two fans per channel. Meaning my controller has 5 headers, but I have 7 fans. Since I can hook two to a header I have all 7 fans running on a 5 fan header controller. The downside is when controlling just one channel it will control the two fans. But that isn't a big deal, I could theoretically hook 3 more fans to my pc if I had a place to put them.

I wouldn't recommend hooking three fans to one header UNLESS you check all the voltages and make sure the header can power the 3 fans at max power. Two should be pretty safe with a splitter.

A fan controller? There's simple ones like the NZXT Grid that go on the front of your PC and you just move the switches up and down. Lower position means lower fan speed and vice versa, like those dimmer switches for the lights in houses
