Ok so im planning on build an ubuntu server in the 1-2 weeks for media streaming.

Current Spec:

i3 3220(already owned)

motherboard for z77(already owned , but its slightly curved)

8gb of corsair vengance memory(already owned)

Know here is where I you guys, I need a raid controller (since the mobo doesn't support it and it needs to work with ubuntu server)

I need an something like 2x2TB hard drives to run in raid one.and then I also need a case and PSU to power the system and since this is a server I need 24/7 capable parts but im not sure on what HDDs and PSUs are and aren't.

So basically

HDDS

PSU

CASE

RAID CARD

Is what I need.

PBH61-M LE/CSM from asus

Ah, that it explains the lack of motherboard RAID. It is not a Z77 motherboard. It is an H61 motherboard, socket is the same as Z77 - LGA1155.

Something like SeaSonic SS-350TGM Retail or SeaSonic S12II 380B would be a good psu choice. You may have to get a larger psu if more SATA power connectors are needed.

WD Red drives are designed for small RAID arrays and would be good choices in this application.

An appropriate case depends on how many drives have to be housed.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
