hi recently got a dell inspiron 17 5000 series with a gt 840M 2GB, i7 and 8 gb ram. when i plug it in i can play all my games but the problem is as soon as I unplag it my fps drops is there a way to set my GPU to use the more power in battery mode and run the same as if  was pluged in?

Go into the power settings and there should be an option somewhere where it runs at a lower performance when on battery--change that.

go to energy options and put in high performance mode
