Now, I know to 'fix' screen tearing you need to have v-sync on...though that really isn't an option for me since I usually play FPS'

But I was wondering why I'm still having screen tearing issues when the refresh rate of my monitor is exactly 60Hz and my in-game settings is also 60Hz. I mean shouldn't that basically get rid of screen tearing?

I feel like I'm forgetting some details about screen tearing and such and I can't quite remember it...but yaa

You have to turn on v-sync, no matter what. If you do it through the nvid control panel it's the same as enabling it in-game. Changing in-game settings to 60Hz doesn't make it run at 60fps, only when you enable v-sync with that.

Nvidia control panel-> turn on adaptive V-sync "Might" fix

This somewhat helped...with Borderlands 2 at least...bf3 still suffers from terrible screen tearing...well my in-game refresh rate is 59.8x and I can't seem to get it to 60hz for some weird reasons...none the less...thanks!

I just can't live with the input lag as well as the stuttering that v-sync gives...soo yaaa tough life...

Try to lock your FPS cap at 120 or 180 ?
