Under $1900 complete value build

Go to solution Solved by Thebman712,

Add some ram just for the future and change your 770 to a 290 for the best value or a 280x, which is cheaper and better than a 770.

Also you will want a ssd

This is what I currently have:

1. Budget & Location

I have a budget of $1900 CAD However, I am looking to undershoot if the value is better. Currently I am planning to buy from NCIX but, I will take whatever gives me the best value.

2. Aim

My aim is to create a complete gaming PC. I spend lots of time playing CS:GO but, I plan to get into newer games such as BF4, Farcry 3, borderlands 2, ect.

3. Monitors

I plan on running one 1080p monitor at high frame rates for CS:GO but, I am inexperienced in the high performance gaming field and I'm open to different monitor configurations. I am also interested in G-Sync if my budget allows it.

4. Peripherals

I need to buy peripherals for this build. I need pretty much everything except a desk, chair and a headset. Please tell be if I've forgotten something.

5. Why am I upgrading?

Because I am currently gaming on a laptop that was never meant for the purpose.

A faster gpu will be beneficial with a 144Hz monitor.

If you up the psu to 850W you can add a 2nd card in the future. If you only plan on a single gpu then you could drop down to a 550W.

I would also suggest that you fit an SSD into the build. Things will load much faster from an SSD over a normal HDD. Something like the Crucial MX100 256GB would be a good choice.

Everything else looks fine.

Hi @J_DeMan. I'd have to agree with @lee32uk and @Thebman712 on the SSD. You won't regret buying one especially for your OS. As for the HDD, although the WD Blue is a nice 7200RPM drive, its main purpose is general usage. If you want to squeeze more from your HDD for better gaming experience, I'd recommend that you take a look at the WD Black drive. It is designed specifically for gaming thus you can rely on its high performance. The drive has a lot of features which enhance your gaming experience and you can play and record you gameplay at the same time without having to worry about frame skipping at 1080p. You can take a closer look at the WD Black drive here: http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=790

Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any questions.
Cheers,
