I am still using my old but faithful 500GB Seagate ST3500418AS Barracuda 7200.12 , And for storage my two twins "LOL" A matching pair of 250GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3250310AS . I have kept them since they are about the same as any other new 7200RPM sata, and because I am cheap and if it aint broke don't fix it right?

Anyway on Newegg I ran across a 120GB solid State Kingston V300 Drive, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820721107&RandomID=2380475902345020140821224233

At first I was thinking wow it's a Kingston brand and it's 120GB so it should be great, Then I read the reviews and learned more LOL, According to many reviews it is only as fast as a 7200 Sata, And I read something about them changing a controller in it making the read and right speed slower than it's advertised speed, And I could tell by the responses to the reviewers by someone from Kingston customer service who should be a politician LOL, Anyway she is named Jewel, And you can tell she is just trying to make excuses and avoid a straight answer. So I am not sure if I should try this drive or not. If it is noticably faster in gaming than my primary 500GB sata then I am all for it since it is priced so low. What do you guys think of this drive? Do any of you have this drive? Do you think it should do better than my current Barracuda 7200.12?

Everything you said it's true except the ''it's as fast as my HDD''. Even the worst SSD in the market(which happens to be that one) is at least 5 times faster than your HDD.

Having an SSD in your system is one of the best things.Just give 10 more bucks and get another brand.

For gaming alone the SSD will not have that much of a noticeable improvement. the game will load faster but actual gameplay will be the same. I always recommend SSD for your Bootable drive and all your programs/ games. I would buy it, for 70$ you will guarantee your computer to have faster boot times and load faster.

Edit

I am not aware of the quality of this SSD but SSD's in general are a must for every one who wants a faster computer
