Help with Astro A50's.

I'm not too sure if my Astro A50's surround sound is working. I wanna make sure that I'm on 7.1 Dolby surround sound, how would I do that? I have it connected through an Optical cable, from my mother board as you can see here. http://prntscr.com/4fe1o0 http://prntscr.com/4fe22e

 

So, how would I go about testing the 7.1 dolby surround sound? I'm just not hearing it in-game, it may be a placebo, so I just wanted to make sure, and sorry for being a noob.

Make surround work. Did you bother downloading the astro drivers btw? http://www.astrogaming.com/firmware/firmware.html

Oh I did, MANY times (due to previous problems I was having) but yea, I'm trying to calibrate the surround sound right now with Razer, and can't seem to understand the whole target thing while calibrating, what's the target per each am I looking for while closing my eye? 

 

P.S I know I may be a newbie, and seem a little dumb, but thank you for baring with my idiocy on the matter. :)

Oh I don't quite remember how Razer surround works, sorry for that. It's been a year ago since I used it and it was pretty straight forward for me. I can try it again and see what to do, bare with me then.

Anyways, just calibrate it and it's fine
