So I was thinking of buying Garry's mod. I looked at G2A, because I know that games are cheapest there, and they have it. But there is some warning text saying:

 

"This mod requires game with Source engine."

 

Does this mean that it is a mod? Or can I just install it, without owning the Steam-bought version?

 

All help appreciated!

I think it is referring to the fact that you for some objects you need HL2, TF2 and CSS installed for it to work fully

Oh yeah, I remember now. But you can download those textures, right?

You can download them (I don't know if I can post the site here, not sure if it's legal), but when you actually have those games yourself you can also use these models and easlily select which games you wantto use in GMOD (for example disabling CS:S)
