Ok, so my 400w psu died, but my pc can run with a 350w psu without the gpu. My cpu has integrated graphics, but my motherboard does not. I need to use my computer, so would I be able to use a 350w psu for the computer, and a separate psu for the 6pin for my gpu? This would be temporary ofc, and I have 2 extra 350w psu's.

My Rig: AMD FX-6300, Gigabyte Windforce 280x, 8GB Adata XPG 1866 Mhz

Coming soon  : Two Kuhler 650's, one on the cpu, the other paired witha Kraken G10

since when do motherboards have integrated graphics? and if you aren't going to run the GPU then with only one PSU of 350w you're ok

Some motherboards dont support integrated graphics, like they dont have a monitor plug on the end

By that he means there are no video outputs on the motherboard.

also motherboards used to have graphics on them. it is only recent that the graphics got moved onto the CPU core.

I wouldn't recommend it anyways. To do a proper dual PSU setup, you need to invest in a DC-DC / Independent regulated PSU; otherwise, you will putting your PSU in a crossload scenario of no load on the 5v/3.3v rail and a high load on the 12v rail. When this happens on the cheap, inexpensive PSU such as the Corsair CX430 or Seasonic S12II-B 430w, the PSU may experience a severe voltage drop on the +12v. This was an "issue" that is similar to what some people was concern about with Haswell's low power state on some particular PSUs.

Regardless, if you are going to be buy a new PSU, the one you will end up buying will more than likely power your system. The units I had mentioned above is plenty for the rig you have in your signature.

Sadly it didn't work :( It displayed a message saying to power down and reconnect power to the graphics card even though it did have power, guess I'll have to get a new psu asap.

Yes you can I my self am using 1 500 WATT and 1 250 WATT psus together but it takes some tinkering

only one precaution 1. You have to use one 4 pin and one 20 pin (for the 20+4 pin connector of the motherboard) from different psus so that they work together.....
