Hey fellas!

I'm building a new computer on witch im going to edit videos, work on 3D and 2D motion graphics, etc. Also I would like to be able to play games on it too, since i'm gonna have it at home. By budget atm is around 2200€, and here's what i've got so far:

Intel Six-Core i7 3930k 3.2 Ghz 12MB Sk2011

Cooler - Corsair hydro series h100i

RAM - Corsair DIMM 16GB DDR3-1600 Quad-kit (Vengeance XMP)

SSD - Samsung 2.5'' 840GB (was going for a crucial m4, but it would cost me more because I would have to order one online)

Motherboard - Asus P9x79

PSU - Corsair Pro HX850W

Graphics - MSI GTX660 Ti PE/OC 2GB

Corsair Vengeance C70 military green

Monitor - Asus LED 27'' PB278Q

I also have 2 different sound cards, one Creative X-fi Fatal1ty Champion Series, and an external M-Audio Fasttrack PRO for recording (but those I own already).

What do you think? Anything I should change?

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks a bunch!

I would seriously consider moving up to 670 or 680 from your 660 TI because your running at 2560x1440 vs 1080p, 4GB variants would be preferable. I would normally suggest getting one of the Korean IPS 2560x1440 panels at roughly half the cost of the Asus Panel, but with them being A- Panels they tend to have less accurate color reproduction for doing video/photo editing.

I agree with draex, if you plan on playing some really intense games on your system, a 660ti might not cut it, other than that, everything is really nice and im jealous :P

I strongly, strongly, recommend you upgrade the video card to at least a 670. The 192-bit memory interface of the 660 Ti will not appreciate trying to run the 2560x1440 resolution of that monitor. If you absolutely can't get a bit more money for it, then I would recommend lowering the SSD to a 128/120GB model. Also not saying you need this right now, but depending on how big your work projects get in the future, you might want to allocate some money towards a second 16GB RAM kit.

Edit: Also, if you don't need really perfect color accuracy on the monitor, I would say go with an A- panel monitor as others suggested. However, I DON'T recommend getting it imported. If you live in the US, see if you can pick up this beauty: http://www.microcenter.com/product/384780/EQ276W_27_IPS_LED_Monitor

Comes from a reputable store whom can be blamed if you happen to have issues with the monitor. Sometimes you get screwed with the Korean ones.

Is the 250gb ssd the only drive in the system? if it is, I would strongly recommend adding a secondary hard drive of a decent size. Video files can take up alot of space, and when you add games, well, 250gb just isn't big enough. If you were to add another drive, you could probably drop the power supply down to a 650w or a 750w model to save some money to put towards the drive.

Get a few WD Red drives in there and put them in Raid 0 for the video work projects.
The problem i see with Green drives is the older models aren't that reliable but if the OP can buy the new Green drives then that would be better and cheaper choice.

With all the replies saying i should upgrade my videocard, im really thinking about doing it. Still thinking about what model i should specificly choose. I need a nvidia card because of the cuda cores, they are important for video rendering work, and they are a little bit more expensive. But the upgrade wont cost me more than 80€, which is acceptable.

Regarding storage, since I have a limited budget, for now I only thought about getting a 250gb SSD, so it can activly fit all my software, games, and projects im activly working on, 128GB doesnt seem enough for everything (im usually editing an average of 30gb of raw footage). For raw or edited videos I want to store away, for now i'll use my external harddrives i've been using so far. It will be a pain everytime I want to transfer stuff from the normal disks to the SSD, but for now its all i can afford. I'll start thinking about a raid system as soon as i get the computer, but I'm a IT noob, so i pretty much don't know anything about it.

About the monitor, that one seemed to be the one with the best reviews and it looks amasing. There is a very limited range of quality IPS screens I can purchase here in Portugal. I prefer not ordering one online because if something happens its really hard to get a decent support. But that one i picked out I can actually purchase at a local store. I do need a perfect color on my monitor - i do a lot of color correction work for video. I was actually told to get that screen specificly because of the color accuracy, and that i should still buy a colormunki to make sure i get a perfect accurate color, and to be able to switch between the different presets of color in the different kinds of television formats and computer monitors.

Depending on how much 3D work you do and what programs you use, you might want to look into a midrange nvidia Quadro or an amd FirePro video card, as they are more optimized for that kind of work. A word of caution though: make sure whatever programs you're using for 3D work will benefit from a video card like that, not all will.
