After recently finishing my first PC build, I tried to clean install < Windows 8 Pro for students >

I had no trouble getting it to a USB drive. And after booting with no issues I thought it was a successful install.

But Then, windows rejected my product KEY!

Being new at this and all, I did not know that a windows pro version was not allowed to be installed to a new hard drive (ssd in my case).

I've called support and they have kindly refunded my purchase, BUT

I'm pleading for some help in which versions allow clean install! And how I uninstall my current windows 8 Pro

Every version should be able to do a clean install, maybe your key was for a different verison of W8 (Like Enterprise, Pro, Home)

what VortexS said, it should have been worked...i installed  clean with an 'upgrade win 8 pro' version just to update/ enter the license for 'win 8.1 pro' ...

This is an alpha...this is not a beta. Yeah...and we're running it on production ! [LinusTech & SlickPC]   ~    More Power Than All the Computers in 1999! [Our Servers ^^]
