Ethernet controller or motherboard

So i fell like my motherboard Ethernet cotrooler is not doing my internet justice as i pay for 25/5 speeds (mbps) and i only get about 5/.8 speeds. so after i sold my karambit (cs go) on paypal and got 140$ cad i thought that i should do something about my internet speeds.

 

though i could do 1 of 2 things

 

1) get a ethernet/ wifi controller

or 

2) get a better botherboard with a good ethernt and wifi controller

 

what do you guys think i should do

 

for a controller my budget is about 40$ and a mobo is about 140$

well it could but i ahve a realtect fmily controller in my pc, and i get faster speeds on my mac when its on ethernert though i figured it was my controller

well based on the PC in your sig there should be no issue to slow it down that much that I'm seeing  and with the router thing do you guys have a router given to you by your internet provider? those things are usually terribly horrible and they also usually charge you a deposit and monthly rental fee on them tell your parents this and then offer to buy a new one I don't think they'll complain if you handle it all yourself

yeah it is one from sasktel but they dont charge for it, my dad is kinda a networking/security guy for his for so i think he knows what hes saying 

 

the motherboard is from dell so you can see how thats bad

 

also would nexflix or youtube slow my ping in cs go from 80 to 500+ normally

Even if they don't charge for it a better one is still well better and yeah you can change the motherboard but I think it's a router issue

maybe, i will see if my dad can borrow a better router from work and i can do some tests

i biw find out by my parrents that we are actually getiing 5 and 640 speeds bundled with our cable tv

yeah, lol, me and my dad are looking at options to separate our tv and internet so that we can get better speeds, if it was up to me i would cut out tv entirely 

 

maybe when i get a job i will buy my own line

Yeah I'd agree w/the lack of TV...
