Just had a few questions about a build i'm making for my friend, (The parts are attached to this post).

1)  will the APU be good enough to run games like minecraft and smite, (that's pretty much it), at 1080p, or 1600x900, at minimum 60 fps

2)  does the motherboard support APUs

3)  does the power supply, supply enough power?

anything to lower the price and increase performance, or leaving the price the same and increasing performance, would be great.  i was going to go with dedicated graphics, but didn't see it necessary because he will not be playing powerful games, and i think the APU should be enough.  Thoughts?

Thanks

1. Should be good to play minecraft at 1080p

2. The mobo will support the cpu

3.it will supply enough power

PS. I recommend to switch out the psu and change it to a evga 500b, it's cheaper and it's the same as the corsair one.

A55 is just ok

the A55 dont have VRM cooling heatsinks on them

thanks and, still wondering about playing smite.  if you've never heard of it?  it's a dx-9 game, so compare it to, well, a dx-9 game lol.  also, you could look up gameplay.

and, i don't think there is, but is there an APU, that has better graphics?

the 7850k is the best apu that you can buy today, unless you want to wait a few more years for a better one.

I would Suggest getting a 88x Motherboard as they are already compatible with the 7850k APU and are desinged for the Kivair  APUs. The 55x is compatible also But may require a Bios Update to work.

And the PSU is reallt Mega over kill :P   the APU has a 95 max Watt thermal solution bla bla, so That with your Hard Drive/SSD and CD drive at the same time and 100% usage then your be using like 160 watts lol :3 of your 500 or so watts :D But it does allow you to get a dedicated GPU in time, but if you dont plant on getting something like a R250 to run in xcross fire then you may as well get a FM3 MB and CPU with a decent GPU... Lots to think on yeah lol

what would be best?  getting a regular cpu and and a dedicated card.  or a 7850k and a r7 250 running in crossfire?  not necissarily best performance, but best price performance ratio

Linus hates cheap cards and so do I.

FX 6300 and an R9 270X will do you better and is similarly priced and it might actually use the wattage. Also, that would allow you to run Minecraft and Smite at higher settings at 1080p.

thanks for the idea, to keep the price low ill get the fx 6300, seems like enough horsepower, then i'll buy the r9 270x on ebay, obviously with the box and manuals and cables.  Thanks a lot :)
