ok so on start up there are programs running in the background like razer synapse (which i dont need unless im gaming) and origin (which i barely use at all) and i dont know how to make it so they dont run in the background off start up

Usually you can change that setting in the settings of the program itself.

If you can't find that setting, you can always use task manager, under the startup tab.

I actually couldn't underclock my 5 year old GPU to make it as slow as a next-gen console.

thank you sir. but origin isnt on this list even though it opens by itself and runs in the bg.

Some are services and you can configure when services start. Others may have a "run on startup" configuration setting.

 

But why bother? Just because a process is "running" does not mean that it is actually consuming resources.

Install Ccleaner and it gives you an easy to use list and you can either disable or delete entries in the startup (under tools>startup). Also some things (like in my case, Hamachi) are not on this list, it does however have a service that starts up, to look at your services, you can check your services and disable any you don't need, you can get to the services through administrative tools or just search for it in Windows.
