Space Journal #1: So Apparently i  was dropped on the moon like i'm a mars rover, in a matter of hours i have found the transformers on the dark side of the moon. Turns out its not that dark since dem robots are filled with lights, i waved hi to the Russians on the space station, turns out all those stories about space finding humans instead of the other way around is true(soviet Russia joke). They threw me some Heineken beer and I've been sitting staring at the people of this forum and earth since.

What is up with this bullcrap? Why is it all over the place?

It's the Ice Water Bucket Challenge. It isn't bullcrap.

Basically, you are either nominated by someone or you start the wave. You nominate three people, and then proceed to dump a bucket of ice water over your head and donate $10 to ALS research. Or, you can decline to do the challenge and instead donate $100. It's a fun way to bring attention to a horrifying, crippling disease.

Don't worry about it :P

At least it isn't fucking stupid, like the fire challenge.

This explains that, but why would Bill Gates need to save 90$ and make himself look like an idiot?

Most of the big guys are giving way more anyways, as expected.

I have no idea how much, but they are definitely giving more.

What they give is publicity + awareness, and that's worth more than 100$ from people like Gates and Elon Musk.

besides, they'd probably drop buckets on themselves and donate much more than $100 anyway.

The fact that this was posted by OP here, in a place where ALS is not even remotely related is evidence of this working.
