I've played Forza 4 on the Xbox when a friend got me into it but since then I've moved onto PC gaming and have been looking for a realistic racing sim with the customization of Forza 4. I've also played the F1 2012 Demo recently and I like it except it lacks the customization I'm looking for, in Forza 4 for example you can upgrade a base car and gain points that raise the "Class" of that car so I could have a class C car and beef it up to compete with class A's.

System specs:

Case: NZXT Phantom 410 - White

CPU: Intel Core i7 OC'd at 4.1ghz

GPU's: Two GTX 670's in SLi

RAM: 8GB's DDR3 1333mhz ADATA Gaming series

Mobo: Z68 Asrock Extreme 4 Gen 3

CPU Cooler: Corsair Air Series A50 CPU Cooler

PSU: OCZ 850w Gold Certified

SSD: Crucial M4 256gb

HDD: 2TB Thing.

I intend to have three 27" monitors running at 1080p eventually, though they will as a future proofing for when I upgrade my GPUs be able to run at 2560 x 1440p (For less demanding games I would certainly run all three at 1440p) and if I find the right racing sim, a racing wheel too.

Thanks in advance.

zumhorst94 has a good little list there, all are decent titles and a few I'll expand on.

iRacing is your best option if you want high quality online racing in a more serious environment, it costs a lot, but it's worth it. You will really need a wheel though. I think this still works, free 3 month subscription.

If you're looking for something more casual try rFactor or RaceRoom Racing Experience.

If you don't mind waiting then check out Assetto Corsa, no car customisation like the others but it'll have road and race cars and a lot of high quality tracks.

Car customisation is usually only on arcade racers on PC, Shift has it, but it isn't realistic.

CPU: i5-2500K @ 4.6GHz  | Motherboard: Gigabyte Z68X-UD5-B3 | Graphics Card: Zotac GTX 680 @ 1215/3206/2430MHz/1.162V (314.14) | Memory: 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance LP White 1600MHz  | Hard Drive: Samsung 840 120GB + Intel 520 240GB + Samsung F3 1TB | Optical Drive: Samsung DVDRW+ | Power Supply: Corsair HX 620W | Display: Dell U2312HM (1920x1080) | Sound Card: X-FI Xtreme Music | Operating System: Windows 7 Pro (x64)
