Hey,

This is my first forum post, but i really need some help. I live in Australia and getting computer parts is a lot more expensive than in America, as you might know. So i need some help about wether to get parts from America with lower part cost but higher shipping cost or to get parts from Australia with a higher parts cost, but lower shipping. I would also like some advice on the general parts I'm choosing and if you think they and good or are worth getting different parts in my price range, Thanks.

Parts (I was considering to get):

Intel i5 3570K (Hoping to overclock 4Ghz or more)

MSI Geforce GTX 660 ti Power Edition

CoolerMaster HAF 912 Combat With window

Hydro H55 or CoolerMaster 212 evo

Asrock Z77 Extreme4 Motherboard

Corsair XMS3 RAM (8GB)

Cheapest DVD Drive I Can find (Just in case i need one for installing windows or the rare game or two)

Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB

FSP 550W Power Supply

Sites I'm willing to use:

http://pccasegear.com ( Australia )

www.NCIX.com (America or the Canadian variant)
www.Amazon.com ( Not too keen on Amazon)

Thanks

Well first of all that PSU sucks, you NEED a quality PSU or shit will take your whole system with it when it dies. Other than that it literally looks perfect. extreme4 is the best overclocker at that price by far. I would personally grab corasir vengeance low profile instead of corsair xms though.

Edit* I take that back about the PSU. apparently they are the 5th largest OEM PSU provider in the country. I still wouldn't personally buy from them but from what other people are saying you shouldn't have any problem with it.

Never heard of that PSU brand. go for something like Seasonic, Corsair, Antec etc

I would take the vengeance RAM but in Australia it fluctuates in price allot so ill see if it's cheap at the time

What would you recommend for the cooler is it worth stretching for the H55 or staying cheaper with the hyper 212 evo, which one OC's better.

I'm not to forsure which one is better but I have a 212 evo on my 3570k and I'm at 4.3 at 1.18v and my max temps are 70c after hours of p95.

I've heard of the 212 evo's OC capabilities, but was a bit sceptical for an air cooler, but if you can get those clock speeds they're plenty enough for me so I will likely go with the 212 evo.

Im also not very sure on how to overclock and how voltages affect it so, if someone could explain that to me that would be awesome.

XMS is fine. Vengeance is just for better looks and better timings.

How does vengeance have better timings?

To overclock, you go into your bios and raise your clock speed. There. You're done right?

Not exactly. When you raise your clock, your cpu will need more power and sometimes the stock voltage isn't enough.

Tests like prime95 will tell you if your overclock doesn't have enough power.

By raising your voltages, you give the cpu the power it needs.

You generally want the lowest voltages with the highest clicks as you can get.

The evo overclocks very well for its price. Go with that. As for liquid coolers, I don't recommend anything lower than an h80i.
